Syria investigates military site explosions in Aleppo province

Syrian authorities have launched an official investigation following a series of explosions at a military site near the town of al-Eis in Aleppo province. The incident, which occurred early Monday, September 21, 2026, resulted in at least four injuries. Residents reported hearing more than ten continuous blasts coming from the affected perimeter.

This event marks the fifth such incident involving military arsenals or temporary storage centers in Syria within a three-week period. Previous explosions in Idlib and Deir Ezzor throughout September have resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. In response to the recurring incidents, the Ministry of Defense stated it will implement measures to protect military personnel and secure sites to prevent future occurrences.
