TAAG Cargo inaugurates Luanda‑Lusaka air freight route

TAAG Angola Airlines launched its first dedicated freighter service between Luanda, Angola and Lusaka, Zambia on 24 July. The inaugural flight, operated by a Boeing 737‑800 freighter, carried 12.8 tonnes of cargo from Amsterdam, including machine parts, IT equipment and personal effects.

The weekly service is part of TAAG’s North–South logistics corridor, linking Europe, China and Brazil with key African markets. Subsequent flights have already been booked with loads of 14‑16 tonnes, reflecting strong demand from freight forwarders and regional shippers. The operation is supported by a partnership with NAC2000, which provides ramp and cargo‑handling services in Zambia.

TAAG plans to extend its network with a new route to Libreville, Gabon, in 2026, and the Lusaka link is expected to boost trade under the Airlift Zambia initiative, facilitating exports such as beef, poultry and horticultural products between the two countries.
