TAAG launches dedicated cargo route to Lusaka

TAAG has launched a dedicated cargo service to Lusaka, Zambia, as part of a strategy to expand its market share in the African freight segment and strengthen regional logistics. The inaugural flight, DT7587, was operated by a Boeing 737-800 Freighter and transported 12.8 tons of cargo from Amsterdam, including machinery parts, IT equipment, and high-value goods.

The new route will initially operate on a weekly frequency. In partnership with NAC2000, which provides ground handling and acts as the General Sales and Service Agent in Zambia, the service integrates into TAAG’s North-South logistics corridor. This connection aims to facilitate trade between Africa and markets in Europe, China, and Brazil.

The expansion also supports the ‘Airlift Zambia’ initiative by improving export conditions for products such as poultry, beef, and vegetables, facilitating easier access to the Angolan market and TAAG’s international network.
