Enersa to implement battery storage in Federación

Enersa has launched a tender to implement a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Federación Industrial Park in Argentina. The project aims to strengthen the local electrical supply, manage peak consumption, and reduce reliance on diesel-based generation during high-demand periods, particularly in summer.

The system will connect to 13.2 kV and provide a minimum of four hours of autonomy at nominal power. It will feature “grid-forming” technology to assist with electrical stability, voltage and frequency regulation, and “black start” capabilities to facilitate service recovery during contingencies.

Enersa President Uriel Brupbacher stated the initiative aligns with provincial goals to provide competitive and high-quality energy. The project is intended to improve network efficiency and service quality through new technological tools.
