Taean County launches market refund event with Korea Western Power
Taean County, in collaboration with Korea Western Power, is launching a relay refund event using Onnuri Gift Certificates to stimulate local consumption and support small business owners.
Starting August 29 at the Sinjin Port alley-type shopping district, the event will move through various locations including Baeksa-jang Port, the East and West Markets, and the five-day markets on a weekly weekend schedule. Participants can receive paper Onnuri Gift Certificates worth approximately 33% of their daily purchases, with a maximum refund of 50,000 KRW per person.
Specific refund tiers include 10,000 KRW for purchases between 30,000 and 60,000 KRW, up to 50,000 KRW for purchases exceeding 150,000 KRW. Korea Western Power is providing 150 million KRW worth of gift certificates for the program. Local authorities estimate the initiative could generate between 450 million and 600 million KRW in regional economic stimulus.
