El Salvador adds direct flights from Madrid and Guatemala

Air Europa will launch three weekly flights between Madrid‑Barajas and San Salvador starting 17 December. The service will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from Madrid at 23:55, with return flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 12:10, using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and offering upgraded Business‑class amenities as part of the airline’s Air Europa ON programme.

Tag Airlines is introducing a new route linking Guatemala City and San Salvador with four weekly frequencies on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The connection is intended to broaden travel options for tourism, business and family visits and to strengthen regional integration.

Both airlines cite the rapid growth of El Salvador’s tourism market – more than four million visitors in 2025, nearly double the 2019 level – as a key driver for expanding air connectivity in Central America.
