Tahiti expects 25% rise in cruise ship calls at Papeete port in 2026
Tahiti Tourisme reported a 25% increase in cruise ship calls at Papeete port this year and expects a further 10% rise in 2027. Growth in 2026 is driven mainly by new cruise participants, while 2027 will see existing partners expand their presence and add more vessels.

The Ritz‑Carlton Yacht Collection is adding winter itineraries in French Polynesia, Hawaii and the Asia‑Pacific for 2026‑27. Evrima will debut with 13 immersive cruises to Bora Bora, Moʻorea and Huahine. Ponant will deploy Le Jacques Cartier across the Polynesian archipelagos from September 2026 to March 2027.
Windstar Cruises plans to introduce the Wind Star to its South‑Pacific program in 2027, expanding trips to Tahiti, the Tuamotu and Marquesas, the Cook Islands and Fiji in 2028, with the Star Breeze and Wind Star sailing year‑round in Tahiti. Local operator Aranui will launch a second vessel, the Aranoa, in March 2027, dedicated to the Austral Islands.
