Taichung State Hall reopens with historical exhibition
The Taichung State Hall, a national historic site, has officially reopened to the public following a restoration project costing nearly 700 million TWD. To mark the reopening, the city is hosting a special exhibition titled “The Past and Present of Taichung State Hall,” which explores the building's century-long history, its role as a central administrative hub, and its architectural evolution. The exhibition includes interactive zones for children and displays of historical documents and office supplies.
Taichung Mayor Lu Shi-yen held a municipal meeting at the restored site to encourage public familiarity with the landmark. Additionally, the Mayor announced that the annual Taichung Citizens' Picnic Day has been rescheduled to December 6. This delay is intended to prevent political or commercial interference during the upcoming local elections on November 28, ensuring the event remains a neutral space for citizens.
