Taipei mayoral race sees political shifts and EasyCard GM resignation

Political tensions are rising in the Taipei mayoral race as candidates and officials react to shifting political currents. Shen Po-yang, a Democratic Progressive Party candidate, expressed rare agreement with Kuomintang official Cheng Li-wen, noting that the perceived political momentum for his campaign is not visible and that Chiang Wan-an appears to hold a stable position.

In a related development, Chen Kuo-chun, the General Manager of EasyCard Corporation, has submitted his resignation effective October 28. While the official reason cited is for personal considerations, there is external speculation regarding whether his departure is linked to supporting Chiang Wan-an's campaign. Chen previously served as an advisor to the Taipei City Government.

Additionally, Shen Po-yang has committed to participating in a civic forum for the LGBTQ+ community, emphasizing his intention to foster a more inclusive and friendly environment in Taipei.
