Taipei music festivals to link performances with night market commerce
Taipei will host two major music festivals in October 2026, integrating musical performances with local night market commerce and urban tourism.
The Autumn Out Music Festival is scheduled for October 10 and 11. Organized by the Taipei Water Department, the event features approximately 50 performance teams, including seven international artists. Notably, Japanese singer Chara will perform for the first time in 25 years. The festival is expanding its reach from the Gongguan area to the Shida commercial district, involving over 160 local businesses and offering 4,000 discount coupons to encourage consumer spending in the night markets.
Separately, the Exit Music Festival will take place on October 17 at the Taipei Performing Arts Center. The lineup includes artists such as Kimberley Chen, Lee Ai-qi, and Jiu Yi Yi. This event aims to connect with the Shilin Night Market area, offering rewards through the MRT points system for visitors who use public transit to visit participating food vendors in the market.
