Taipei opens new Taiwanese cuisine venue as Taiwan Food Expo kicks off

A new restaurant, Four Taste (四味軒), opened in Taipei's Eastern District, offering innovative Taiwanese dishes that blend traditional flavors with modern techniques. The venue features a menu inspired by the concept of “four flavors of life” and includes signature items such as crab‑mushroom egg, bread‑wrapped spring chicken, and a hand‑poured salty soy‑bean milk tofu. An opening promotion gives customers a free half lobster with social‑media check‑ins.

Meanwhile, the Taiwan Food Expo began on July 31 at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1, running through August 3. The exhibition, themed “Terroir Fermentation,” showcases local agricultural products, Michelin‑recommended restaurants, Hakka specialties, and regional cuisines from across the island. Over 30 agricultural brands, numerous hotels and restaurants, and a dedicated vegetarian zone participated, offering tastings, discounts on dining and accommodation vouchers, and live cooking demonstrations.

Both events aim to highlight Taiwan’s culinary culture to domestic and international visitors.
