Entities: Taiwan Food Expo · Bridgewater, New Jersey · Taiwan Good Food Pavilion · Lee Julan · Taiwan Food Expo
Overview
Ahead of the Taiwan Food Expo, which was scheduled for 31 July–3 August 2026 at the Taipei World Trade Center, the city saw the opening of Four Taste, a new restaurant that began serving diners on 29 July. The Expo’s launch day featured President Lai Ching‑de, who reiterated the government’s ambition to draw 10 million international visitors annually and generate more than NT$1 trillion in tourism revenue by 2030.
The exhibition showcased 14 Michelin‑star and Bib Gourmand restaurants, a “Taiwan Good Food Pavilion” with 32 local vendors, and over 100 chef demonstrations, including Ah‑Ji, James and Wu Bing‑cheng. As reported on opening day, the Agriculture Ministry offered 500 free eel tastings, and tickets were priced at NT$200 for adults, NT$150 for concessions and NT$100 for charity.
In parallel, a Kaohsiung Franchise Expo opened at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, presenting roughly 100 franchise brands across food, retail, beauty and technology. Organisers forecast NT$12 billion in business activity, the creation of more than 800 new stores and about 3,000 jobs, positioning the event as a warm‑up for the World Franchise Congress scheduled for October 2026.
The Expo also linked to overseas promotion, with a Taiwan Night Market set for Bridgewater, New Jersey on 30 August, alongside an Apple Rock Music Festival and culinary workshops featuring Taiwanese chefs.
