Taipei Veterans General Hospital Yuanshan Branch launches rehabilitation pilot

Taipei Veterans General Hospital Yuanshan Branch has launched a pilot rehabilitation ward program under the National Health Insurance Administration. The initiative, titled ‘New Milestone in Rehabilitation, Hope for Returning Home,’ aims to bridge the gap between acute medical treatment and long-term care services.

As the only hospital in Yilan selected for this national pilot, the facility focuses on helping patients with rehabilitation potential regain functional abilities to return home safely. The program utilizes a ‘life-scenario’ approach, incorporating simulated home environments to train patients in daily activities such as moving, using the restroom, and dressing. This method seeks to ensure patients can return to their families and communities with dignity.
