Taitung to host National Day fireworks after nine-year hiatus

Taitung will host the National Day fireworks celebration on October 10, marking the event's return to the region after a nine-year absence. Themed ‘The Ark of the World: Austronesian Taiwan,’ the festivities will integrate Austronesian culture with local landscapes.

The event features a variety of activities, including a food market with over 60 vendors, live musical performances, and a ‘South Island Party’ featuring various artists. The fireworks display will be accompanied by a live symphonic performance from the Taipei Symphony Orchestra Youth Orchestra.

To manage expected crowds, the Taitung County Government has implemented traffic controls around major landmarks and the Zhonghua Bridge. Free shuttle buses will operate between Taitung Station, the transit hub, and the venue from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The celebration will also be broadcast via television and online platforms for those unable to attend in person.
