Taiwan announces 71-athlete roster for 2026 Asian Para Games

Taiwan has announced its 71-athlete roster for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games, scheduled for October 18–24. The delegation will compete across 12 different sports, featuring a mix of world-ranked veterans and 19 rising stars making their debut.

Key athletes include world number one table tennis player Chen Po-yen, along with top-ranked doubles pairs in both table tennis and badminton. The roster also features Paralympic medalists such as weightlifter Lin Tzu-hui and table tennis player Cheng Ming-chih.

To support the athletes, the Sports Ministry is implementing a high-standard logistics system modeled after the Asian Games. This includes a specialized support hub staffed by 16 professionals from the National Sports Training Center and the National Sports Science Center. The medical team will consist of six specialist doctors and 19 physical therapists, with specific focus on areas such as spinal cord injury care and psychological counseling. Additionally, the delegation has arranged 22 support vehicles to ensure accessible transportation and has reserved 40 extra beds to prevent accommodation issues.
