Taiwan Comic Expo Draws Over 640,000 Visitors to Taipei World Trade Center

The 2026 Taiwan Comic Expo opened at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 on 23 July and runs through 27 July. Organisers estimate more than 640,000 visitor entries during the five‑day show, projected to generate about NT$3 billion in economic activity through ticket sales, merchandise, food, transport and lodging.

A dedicated "Taiwan Comic Museum" was launched by the Cultural Content Center, highlighting recent successes of local creators. The exhibition featured interactive photo‑booths, a scan‑and‑collect zone, and numerous author signings and stage programmes. High‑profile officials attended, including Culture Minister Lee Yuan and TAICCA director Wang Min‑hui, who praised the event’s role in promoting Taiwanese comic IP and its cross‑media potential. An awards ceremony also recognised top original IPs, underscoring the growing market for Taiwanese comics and related products.
