Taiwan Labor Ministry launches youth training and counseling programs

The Taiwan Ministry of Labor’s Central District Office has opened enrollment for a series of youth vocational training classes covering AI applications, video media, digital marketing and other in‑demand skills. Eligible participants aged 15‑29 receive full tuition subsidies and can claim up to NT$96,000 in learning allowances. Since 2019 the program has run 44 classes, trained over 800 individuals and achieved an 80 % employment rate. New courses slated for later this year include AI‑assisted design and 3‑D scanning, Adobe‑based generative‑AI video production, and digital marketing for the food‑service sector.

In parallel, the Ministry’s “Youth Employment Good Review Programme” offers one‑on‑one career counseling, resume reviews and interview coaching, linking trainees with the Ministry’s job‑matching services. The scheme targets unemployed youth (15‑29) who have been out of work for at least six months; after completing three counseling sessions and securing a job within 90 days, participants receive a NT$30,000 job‑search reward. The programme highlighted a psychology graduate who, after eight months of unemployment, completed an AI and data analytics training course and was placed as a software developer in the tech sector.
