Taiwan labor ministry employment initiatives

In early July 2026 Taiwan's Ministry of Labor opened enrollment for a suite of youth vocational training courses covering AI, digital media, and marketing, coupled with one‑on‑one career counseling and a job‑search reward for successful placement. The programme, running since 2019, reported high employment outcomes and added new AI‑focused modules for later in the year.

A week later the ministry announced an expansion of flexible‑work measures aimed at women and older workers. The initiatives provide re‑employment bonuses, employer subsidies for flexible‑hour positions, and funding for workplace adjustments. A briefing scheduled for August will showcase job‑design techniques to further support mid‑career and senior employees, underscoring the ministry's broader push to diversify and modernise Taiwan's labor market.

In late August, the Labor Development Agency’s Taoyuan‑Hsinchu‑Miaoli branch organized eight on‑site job fairs in Taoyuan, Hsinchu and Miaoli, attracting 224 companies and posting more than 10,000 vacancies across technology, manufacturing, food service, transport and other sectors, including high‑pay engineering roles. At the same time, Taichung City’s labour bureau introduced AI‑powered recruitment tools, with an “AI virtual interview‑officer,” e‑resume analysis and VR workplace simulations used by 70 local firms for over 3,500 positions. The AI system provides real‑time interview feedback and aims to shorten the job‑search cycle, further supporting the ministry’s effort to boost youth employment and align talent with Taiwan’s evolving industrial landscape.
