Taiwan police assist elderly citizens in separate navigation incidents

Police in Taiwan have assisted elderly citizens in separate incidents involving disorientation and navigation errors.

In Kaohsiung, an elderly man in his 80s became lost while walking near Zhenhai Road after visiting relatives. Officers from the Qianzhen Precinct responded to the report, provided comfort to the man, and successfully contacted his son to arrange for his safe return.

In Taichung, an 80-year-old man accidentally rode an electric mobility scooter onto an elevated highway in the Qingshui District. The scooter ran out of power on the bridge, creating a hazard for passing traffic. Police officers worked alongside a helpful logistics driver to transport both the man and his mobility scooter safely back to his residence. Authorities reminded the public that mobility scooters are classified as pedestrian aids and should not be operated on prohibited high-speed roadways.
