Taiwan police officer and school assault cases reach judicial conclusions

A New Taipei City police officer has been sentenced to a light penalty of three months, convertible to a fine, after admitting to arranging sexual encounters with eight individuals at his former high school in Taipei. Between April and November 2025, the officer used the social media platform X to invite participants to the school's activity center to engage in sexual activities. He subsequently uploaded sexual videos to the platform 57 times.

The Taipei District Court issued the ruling following the officer's confession. The judge advised the officer to cherish his public service career and refrain from such behavior.

In a separate legal matter, Mingdao High School in Taichung has responded to a finalized court ruling regarding a 2024 incident where a parent assaulted a school instructor following a dispute over illegal parking. The parent received a 20-day detention sentence and was ordered to pay 30,000 TWD in civil damages. The school stated it maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward violence.
