Taiwan promotes tea culture through Nantou Expo and Yilan tasting events

Taiwan is hosting significant events to promote its tea culture and local agricultural products. The 16th Nantou World Tea Expo is scheduled to take place from October 3 to 11 at Zhongxing New Village. The expo will feature 35 themed pavilions, over 200 exhibition stalls, and various activities including a thousand-person tea party, music concerts, and tea-country tours across five different routes in Nantou.

The event aims to showcase diverse tea cultures from regions such as Persia, Japan, India, and Tibet, alongside Taiwan's own offerings like Sun Moon Lake black tea and Dongding Oolong. Organizers are emphasizing sustainable practices, including low-carbon cultivation and smart agriculture.

In Yilan, Chun Tian Hot Spring Resort recently concluded a collaborative tea tasting event titled ‘Moonlight Elegant Gathering’ in partnership with the Agriculture and Food Agency and Hua Jian Cha Yu. The event focused on the integration of local premium tea, such as pomelo flower green tea, with regional agricultural specialties to enhance consumer recognition of domestic high-quality produce.
