Taiwan resumes visa applications for Moroccan nationals

Taiwan has announced the immediate resumption of visa applications for Moroccan nationals, effective October 12. This decision follows a nearly three-month diplomatic standoff regarding consular services.

The dispute began in late July when Morocco suspended the issuance of visa confirmation letters for Taiwanese travelers. In response, Taiwan suspended visa applications for Moroccan citizens on July 30, citing the principle of reciprocity. The tension eased after Morocco restored visa services for Taiwanese passport holders on September 21.

While visa processing has resumed, the resumption does not imply visa exemptions or a guarantee of approval; applicants must still follow standard regulations and submit dossiers through Taiwanese representations abroad.
