Taiwan secures hosting rights for major international baseball tournaments

The Chinese Taipei Baseball Association has secured the rights to host two major international baseball events in Taiwan: the 2027 WBSC Premier12 (Asia qualifier and main tournament) and the 2028 Olympic Baseball Final Qualifying Tournament. Association President Gu Zhongliang confirmed the decision following meetings with the World Baseball Softball Confederation leadership in Shanghai.

In youth baseball, the 2026 BFA U12 Asian Youth Baseball Championship concludes with a championship match between Chinese Taipei and Japan in Hangzhou, China. Chinese Taipei is seeking its ninth title and a third consecutive championship, aiming to avenge a recent 5-6 loss to Japan during the super round stage of the tournament.
