Taiwan to host 2027 WBSC Premier12 and Olympic qualifiers

Taiwan has secured the hosting rights for the 2027 WBSC Premier12 baseball tournament and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics final qualifying tournament. The Premier12 preliminary and semi-final rounds are scheduled to take place from November 8 to 15, 2027, with 10 matches slated to be held at the Taipei Dome. The tournament finals will be hosted in Tokyo, Japan.

Chinese Taipei Baseball Association Chairman Ko Chung-liang noted that hosting these events at home provides a significant advantage for the national team. Even if the Chinese Taipei team secures an Olympic berth during the Premier12 tournament, the subsequent Olympic qualifying tournament will still proceed as planned.

Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an stated that the city is preparing for the international event by focusing on transportation, security, and venue maintenance. The city aims to leverage the tournament to boost tourism and local economic activity.
