Chinese Taipei baseball rosters updated for APBC and Winter League

The Chinese Taipei national baseball team has announced several updates ahead of the 2026 Asia Professional Baseball Championship (APBC). Head coach Kao Chih-kang confirmed roster changes due to health and injury concerns: pitcher Lin Chao-en will withdraw to recover following medical findings, and outfielder Kong Nien-en is out due to a wrist injury. They will be replaced by pitcher Chang Cheng-en and outfielder Tung Tzu-en, respectively.

Guo Tian-shin has been named captain for the APBC squad, focusing on team cohesion and psychological readiness. Infielder Yang Po-hsiang, currently playing in Japan, is also set to participate and has expressed competitive intent against former teammates from the Rakuten Golden Eagles.

Separately, a University All-Star team has been formed to compete in the 2026 Asia Winter Baseball League. Led by head coach Wang Yi-min, the 30-man roster consists of elite collegiate players aiming to gain international experience in preparation for the 2029 World University Games.
