Taiwan weather faces high temperatures and large temperature shifts
Taiwan is experiencing an ‘Autumn Tiger’ weather pattern, characterized by high daytime temperatures and significant temperature fluctuations between day and night. From Friday, October 16, through next Tuesday, October 20, daytime highs are expected to reach between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius in western regions, while eastern regions will see highs around 31 to 32 degrees Celsius.
Meteorologists note that while mornings and nights remain relatively cool, the intense daytime heat persists. Residents are advised to adjust their clothing for the large temperature shifts and stay hydrated. In western Taiwan, weather is expected to be mostly sunny to cloudy, whereas eastern regions and coastal areas may experience occasional local rainfall.
Additionally, the 29th typhoon of the year, Prapiroon, has formed in the open ocean over 4,200 kilometers from Taiwan. Current projections suggest it will move west-northwest, remaining more than 1,000 kilometers away from the island for at least five days, though its future path remains subject to change.
