Taiwanese delegation departs for Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games

The largest contingent of the Taiwanese delegation for the 5th Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games has departed for Japan. This group of 91 people, consisting of 53 coaches and athletes alongside 38 staff members, includes participants in athletics, judo, powerlifting, shooting, swimming, taekwondo, wheelchair fencing, and wheelchair tennis.

Taiwan has selected a total of 71 athletes to compete in 12 different sports throughout the games, which are scheduled to officially open on October 18. Some teams, including badminton, table tennis, archery, and floorball, have already arrived in Japan to begin their respective competitions.

Delegation leader Mu Min-chu noted that the team features a younger roster of athletes who have undergone long-term training. She expressed hope that the team can maintain the performance levels seen at previous games. The Ministry of Sports and the National Sports Training Center have coordinated resources to provide comprehensive support and services for the athletes during the event.
