Taiwanese youth entrepreneurs drive agricultural and cultural innovation

Youth entrepreneurship initiatives in Taiwan are driving innovation and cultural preservation within the agricultural sector. In Yilan, the Yilan County Youth Enterprise Research Society recently visited the Xieji Leisure Farm to explore agricultural transformation. The farm, led by Wang Jingfei and Zhou Hongmei, has successfully transitioned from traditional poultry and egg production to a brand that integrates leisure agriculture, tourism, and traditional crafts.

In Chiayi, the youth startup Wei Tian Farm hosted a culinary event in Liujiao Township to showcase local village food memories. Founded by Huang Guanxiang and Zhang Yingjia, the team uses organic asparagus cultivation as a base to engage with local elders and document disappearing village stories. Supported by the Chiayi County Government, the project aims to foster intergenerational connection and rural revitalization. Additionally, Wei Tian Farm is implementing a biodynamic composting project at Liuguo Elementary School to promote zero-waste circular agriculture and environmental education.
