Taiwan youth career and agricultural initiatives
Overview
Taiwanese youth initiatives are increasingly focusing on career development, industry integration, and rural revitalization. In Pingtung, a collaborative event between the local government and the TSMC Charitable Foundation provided over 1,000 students with opportunities to explore sectors such as the semiconductor supply chain, smart manufacturing, and green energy through simulated interviews and industry lectures.
Simultaneously, programs in Taitung have worked to connect youth with the agricultural industry by teaching traditional crafts and the market integration of local tea products. This trend of engagement continues through entrepreneurship in regions like Yilan and Chiayi, where young innovators are transforming traditional farming into leisure agriculture and tourism brands. These efforts include projects aimed at documenting local village history, promoting zero-waste circular agriculture, and fostering intergenerational connections to support rural revitalization.
