Taiwo Hassan's daughter mourns passing of Nollywood actor

Kira Taiwo, daughter of the late veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan—widely known as Ogogo—has shared an emotional tribute following his death. In a post on Instagram, Taiwo described her father as ‘the best’ and expressed the difficulty of coping with his absence.

Taiwo passed away on August 23 at the age of 66 after a battle with stage-four cancer. Kira expressed regret that her father would not live to meet her unborn second child. The tribute also highlighted a recent message exchange from July 26, in which the actor encouraged his daughter to remain strong and avoid crying, noting that her happiness provided him with strength.

Before his passing, Taiwo’s daughters, Kira and Haleemah, had publicly appealed for support while exploring medical treatment options for his condition. The actor leaves behind a significant legacy as a recognizable figure in Yoruba cinema.
