Following his burial on August 24, 2026, in Ilaro, Ogun State, new developments emerged regarding funds held by a local religious leader. The Chief Imam of Ilaro, Sheikh Muhammad Tajudeen Mustapha Adewunmi, returned N25 million to Hassan’s family; the funds had been entrusted to the cleric by the actor for the renovation of his grandfather’s house. During a visit to the family in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola noted that Hassan would have been appointed as his Special Adviser on Tourism and Culture had he won the 2027 governorship election.
