Taiz offensive: Yemeni forces report heavy Houthi casualties in ‘Fecr el-Yemen’ operation
The Yemeni military has launched a major offensive known as ‘Fecr el-Yemen’ (Yemen Dawn) in the Taiz governorate. According to reports from the Taiz Military Axis, the operation has resulted in approximately 100 Houthi fighters killed and 150 wounded. During these clashes, military forces reported shooting down five drones and destroying or damaging six military vehicles, including one tank.
Broader military updates indicate significant casualties across various fronts, with Colonel Majid Abdullah al-Nazili stating that 1,860 Houthi members have been killed or wounded in recent operations. Simultaneously, the Arab Coalition reported destroying 82 military targets across four Yemeni provinces in response to Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabian territory.
In a separate humanitarian effort, the Yemeni Red Crescent conducted a large-scale recovery operation on the West Coast, retrieving 486 bodies of Houthi members from coastal and desert areas near Al-Makha, Al-Khawkha, At-Tuhayta, and Hays to mitigate health and environmental risks.
