Tajikistan seeks foreign investment in resources and food processing
Tajikistan is actively pursuing economic expansion through new industrial facilities and international investment opportunities. President Emomali Rahmon recently inaugurated a fish processing facility operated by Bahor LLC in Vahdat. The company aims to increase its fish export capacity to 300 tonnes by the end of 2026 and reach 1,000 tonnes annually by 2027. Having already exported frozen fish to Russia, the company is currently negotiating market entry into Europe, specifically targeting Hungary and the United Kingdom.
In a separate economic push, the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed openness to investments from the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf nations. The government is encouraging partnerships in the development of water resources, mineral exploration, and renewable energy projects. Officials highlighted the country’s abundant natural assets, including rivers, glaciers, and mineral springs, as key drivers for strategic economic cooperation.
