Takumi Minamino returns to AS Monaco bench after injury

Japanese midfielder Takumi Minamino has returned to the bench for AS Monaco following a long-term injury. Minamino, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in December 2025, was included in the matchday squad for the Ligue 1 fixture against RC Lens on September 18.

While he did not see playing time during the match, his inclusion marks a significant step in his recovery process. AS Monaco secured a 2-1 victory over RC Lens, with goals from Paris Brunner and an own goal by Mathieu Udol.

AS Monaco manager Filipe Luís has maintained a cautious approach regarding Minamino's full reintegration into the starting lineup, though the player has been progressively returning to training and squad involvement since August.
