Takumi Minamino returns to AS Monaco squad for PSG match

AS Monaco midfielder Takumi Minamino has been included in the squad for the upcoming Ligue 1 match against Paris Saint-Germain. This marks a significant step toward his return to competitive play following a long-term injury.

Minamino has been sidelined since December 21, 2025, when he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee during a Coupe de France match. While he traveled to the 2026 FIFA World Cup as a mentor to support the Japanese national team, he was unable to participate in the tournament.

After undergoing rehabilitation and reintegrating into training, his inclusion in the 22-man squad for the match against PSG signals his imminent return to official competition. Monaco has welcomed his return, describing it as a “long-awaited homecoming.”
