Rosario Central draws 2-2 with Talleres after Di María double
Rosario Central secured a 2-2 draw against Talleres de Córdoba in a match for the sixth round of the Torneo Clausura 2026 at the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium. Talleres initially held a 2-0 lead through goals from Agustín Álvarez Martínez, who scored on his debut via a penalty, and Valentín Depietri early in the second half.
Ángel Di María led the comeback for Rosario Central, scoring twice to equalize. His first goal came from a penalty, and his second followed a clinical finish after an assist from Franco Ibarra. The match was marked by high intensity and controversial refereeing decisions, including a penalty awarded to Central after a VAR review.
Following the result, Rosario Central moves to fourth place in Group B with 11 points. Talleres remains at the bottom of Group A with only four points. The match also highlighted the tension between Di María and Talleres coach Jorge Sampaoli, stemming from their history during the 2018 World Cup. Talleres coach Sampaoli denied rumors of his resignation despite the team's poor performance.
