Tama City to host summer community events in August 2026

Tama City will host the ‘Green Summer Park 2026’ event on August 22, 2026, at the Tama City Green Live Center within Tama Chuo Park. Organized in collaboration with volunteers from Chuo University, the event features various hands-on activities using natural materials.

Program highlights include flowing nagashi somen using bamboo (reservation required), making traditional bamboo toys, and candle making. Other activities include a water gun battle and a solar-powered toy train demonstration.

Separately, the ‘Tama Higashi Park Summer Festival 2026’ is scheduled for August 29, 2026, at Tama Higashi Park in Suwa, Tama City. The festival will run from 17:00 to 20:00 and includes a bingo tournament for students, custom pen workshops, and traditional festival stalls such as yo-yo fishing and ring toss.
