Tama Civic Center to host free summer movie and peace festival

Tama Civic Center in Kawasaki City will host the ‘Summer Vacation Movie Screening & Peace Fest’ on August 21, 2026. The event is free to attend and requires no prior registration, with a capacity of 900 people.

The program includes two film screenings: the animated film ‘Boku to Gaku: Ano Natsu no Monogatari’ set in Kitakyushu, and ‘Cho-chan Monogatari,’ based on the autobiography of Tetsuko Kuroyanagi’s mother. Between screenings, the ‘Peace Fest’ will feature activities such as Japanese drum performances, paper play (kamishibai), and music. A quiz rally will also be held during the lunch break, offering prizes from the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum.
