Tamaulipas holds dialogue on universal access to information
The Tamaulipas Secretariat of Anti-Corruption and Good Government, through its decentralized body Transparencia para el Pueblo de Tamaulipas, held a dialogue titled ‘The Right to Know: Information, Citizenship, and Democracy in the Digital Age.’ The event was organized to commemorate the International Day for Universal Access to Information.
The virtual dialogue was aimed at public servants from various secretariats, municipalities, and state public administration entities. Led by Brenda González Soto, the session addressed the importance of transparency, the right to access public information, and the institutional responsibility to fulfill transparency obligations. The initiative emphasized that the right to know is a fundamental tool for strengthening accountability and citizen participation, as enshrined in Article 6 of the Mexican Constitution.
