Tamaulipas implements infrastructure and credit projects in Nuevo Laredo
Tamaulipas is implementing various infrastructure and financial initiatives to bolster economic growth and connectivity, particularly in the border city of Nuevo Laredo. The state recorded a 5.2% economic growth rate during the first quarter of the year.
Key infrastructure projects include the expansion of the World Trade Bridge, the development of a new international bridge, the Tampico-Nuevo Laredo highway, and the Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo passenger train. Additionally, the arrival of the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM) and a second freight rail body for Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) are expected to strengthen regional logistics and foreign trade.
On the financial front, Fondo Tamaulipas has allocated over 5 million pesos in individual credits to micro-entrepreneurs and small businesses in Nuevo Laredo. These funds, distributed through programs such as Microemprendedor, Credi Bienestar, and MiPyme Avanza, are intended to help businesses acquire equipment, merchandise, and cover operational costs. An additional 900,000 pesos have been provided through group microcredit schemes.
