Tamaulipas implements tourism monitoring and infrastructure upgrades

The government of Tamaulipas is monitoring tourist flow via the new Tula-Mante-Ocampo highway to evaluate the connection between the Bajío region and the state. Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez, head of the Tamaulipas Ministry of Tourism, stated that the data collected during the summer vacation period will be used to adjust and reinforce tourism promotion campaigns toward these specific visitor segments.

In Tampico, authorities and the Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA) are preparing a project to expand access to the Tampico International Airport. The project aims to reduce traffic congestion by expanding road capacity to three lanes in both directions. The expansion will involve utilizing parts of the parking area median and modifying existing bays to facilitate smoother vehicle movement, particularly for public transport and airport users.
