Tamaulipas Judiciary approves inclusive protocol for neurodivergent minors

The Supreme Court of Justice of Tamaulipas has approved a new protocol designed to ensure inclusive justice for autistic and neurodivergent children and adolescents participating in judicial proceedings.

The protocol aims to eliminate barriers and establish best practices to accommodate specific needs regarding communication, interaction, and environmental adaptation. By implementing these criteria, the judicial system seeks to provide more accessible conditions and ensure that neurodivergent minors can participate in legal processes under conditions of equality.

The development of this institutional tool was a collaborative effort involving magistrates, judicial personnel, and specialists from the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (UAT). The initiative is part of a broader effort by the state's judicial power to create person-centered environments and protect the rights of vulnerable populations within the legal system.
