Mexican judicial reforms for minors' rights

Overview

Judicial authorities in Mexico have implemented new measures to improve the protection and treatment of minors within the legal system.

In Tlaxcala, the state judiciary completed a specialized diploma program focused on justice for children and adolescents. Running from May to August 2026, the program provided training in family and criminal law to ensure the protection of children's rights and alignment with national and international standards.

Following this, the Supreme Court of Justice of Tamaulipas approved a protocol specifically for neurodivergent and autistic minors. Developed in collaboration with specialists from the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas, the protocol aims to eliminate barriers in judicial proceedings by establishing best practices for communication and environmental adaptation to ensure equality for vulnerable populations.
