Tamaulipas PAN targets 2027 elections as state adopts child‑support notary reforms

Gerardo Peña Flores, a local deputy of the National Action Party (PAN) in Victoria, Tamaulipas, said the party aims to recover lost municipal and legislative seats in the 2027 elections despite the emergence of new parties PAZ and Somos México. He emphasized strengthening territorial organization, maintaining close ties with party members and citizens, and presenting competitive candidates drawn from both the party and civil society.

The Congress of Tamaulipas approved a reform to the State Notary Law that requires notaries to verify that individuals are not listed in the Register of Debtors for Alimentary Obligations before authorizing transactions such as sales, donations, or the creation of societies. The measure is intended to enforce child‑support payments and protect the rights of children, adolescents, and families.
