Tamaulipas promotes MICE tourism at IBTM Americas 2026
Tamaulipas is positioning itself as a strategic destination for congresses, conventions, exhibitions, and corporate events through its participation in IBTM Americas 2026. The event will take place on August 19 and 20 at the Centro Banamex in Mexico City.
Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez, the Secretary of Tourism for Tamaulipas, stated that the state is strengthening its meetings tourism sector by offering comprehensive infrastructure, including hotel capacity, security, and both land and air connectivity. The initiative is supported by Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya to promote the region's specialized services for large-scale events.
IBTM Americas is a major industry gathering that brings together over 4,000 professionals, 450 exhibitors, and 550 specialized buyers. The 17th edition of the event aims to facilitate more than 9,000 business appointments. Tamaulipas plans to participate with national and international hosted buyers to foster networking and connections with event organizers.
