Tambacounda hosts workshop on Senegal's territorial governance

Stakeholders from the Tambacounda and Kédougou regions recently convened in Tambacounda to evaluate the Senegal Support Program for Communes and Agglomerations (PACASEN). The workshop focused on assessing the achievements and future prospects of the program after eight years of implementation.

The discussions highlighted several structural challenges facing local government in Senegal. Key issues include insufficient financial transfers from the state, limited mobilization of local resources, and gaps in the technical and managerial capacities required for local authorities to effectively manage infrastructure and essential social services.
