Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay warns ministers of dismissal in cabinet meeting

On July 16 2026 the second meeting of Tamil Nadu’s cabinet was held under Chief Minister Joseph Vijay. The session focused on preparations for the upcoming budget cycle and sector‑by‑sector planning. Vijay also addressed ongoing talks among the DMK, AIADMK and BJP about forming a coalition government, noting that future ministerial appointments could involve members from each party and possibly new entrants from the Stalin and Edappadi families.

In the same meeting Vijay issued a strict anti‑corruption warning, stating that any minister found guilty of misconduct or abuse of power will be removed from office immediately. He emphasized zero tolerance for corruption, pledging swift action against any wrongdoing and urging ministers to manage their departments responsibly and transparently.
