Tamil Nadu CM C. Joseph Vijay explains black coat, white shirt signature look
Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay of Tamil Nadu clarified the meaning of his black coat and white shirt at a rally in Tiruchirappalli following his victory in the April 23 assembly election. He said the attire represents his commitment to honesty, transparency and hard work, and argued that the right to wear a coat and suit should not be limited to powerful people.
Vijay linked the black colour to the Dravidian movement’s symbolism of justice, self‑respect and social equity, rejected criticism from opposition DMK, and noted that the real political contest in the state is between his TVK party and the DMK, with other parties having little influence. He thanked voters for their support and pledged to keep his remarks concise in future meetings.
