Tamil Nadu CM Joseph Vijay visits Karnataka temple amid protest arrests
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay attended a central‑government finance Yojana meeting in Delhi and then travelled by a private aircraft to Mangalore, Karnataka. From there he drove to the Kollur Mookambika temple, entered in traditional attire, offered flowers, fruit and a silk sari, and performed a worship ceremony.
Karnataka police had deployed heightened security for the visit, restricting entry to the temple precincts. About 20 activists from the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike attempted to display black flags in protest over the Megadathi dam dispute with Tamil Nadu. Police intervened and arrested the protesters, preventing further disturbance.
