Tamil Nadu ex‑minister C Vijayabaskar slams AIADMK leadership as dictatorial
Former Tamil Nadu minister and AIADMK MLA C Vijayabaskar publicly condemned the party’s top leadership, accusing general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami of a “dictatorial” style that treats questioning as a crime. In a post on X he wrote, “A leadership that views hard‑working, loyal grass‑root workers as enemies… is not the path to victory.”
Vijayabaskar’s remarks follow similar criticisms from former minister C Ve Shanmugam and come after the AIADMK’s defeat in the April 2026 Assembly election. He was among 21 rebel AIADMK legislators who supported the TVK government in a floor‑test on May 13, later reconciling with Palaniswami but keeping a portion of his supporters inclined toward switching parties. The statements highlight growing dissent within the AIADMK as it deals with post‑election turmoil.
